GDPR / DSGVO - last updated 12 October 2026
1. Controller
The controller for data processing on this site is Hannes Reinsch, Hindenburgdamm 80, 12203 Berlin, Germany, zyx@zyxworks.com. No Data Protection Officer is required by law for a business of this size, so none is appointed.
2. What we collect
- Beta application form - name, work email, company, the process described and the consent given and the selected language, so we can answer the request for beta access.
- Call request form - the email address and the selected language, so we can suggest a time for a call.
- Server logs - IP address, user agent, timestamp, retained briefly for security and operation by our host.
3. Legal basis
Beta application form: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by email) and Art. 6(1)(b) (pre-contractual steps). Logs & security: Art. 6(1)(f).
4. Hosting & form processing
This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA; form submissions are processed via Netlify Forms and transferred to the USA under EU Standard Contractual Clauses. A data-processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify. Fonts (Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, Atkinson Hyperlegible Mono) are self-hosted, so no request ever reaches a third-party font provider.
5. Retention
Enquiry data is kept until your request is resolved and then for up to 24 months, unless a contract or a statutory retention period (up to ten years under Sec. 147 AO and Sec. 257 HGB) requires longer. A beta application that does not lead to a beta is deleted 6 months after our answer.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - the competent one here is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin. To exercise any right, an informal email to zyx@zyxworks.com is enough.
7. No unnecessary tracking
We do not use advertising trackers. Any analytics, if added, will be privacy-friendly and disclosed here with an appropriate legal basis and consent where required.
8. The Zyx product
This policy covers this website. Zyx itself runs on the customer’s own server: the company folder, the database and the logs are processed there, and ZyxWorks runs no server for it. Text that a hosted AI model must read leaves the server and goes to the model provider the customer chose, under the customer’s own contract with that provider; a filter on the server checks it first. For that data the customer is the controller. ZyxWorks is a processor only during a guided install and agreed support sessions, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Terms of use
This website and its content are provided by Hannes Reinsch for information. "Zyx", "Zyx Runtime" and "ZyxWorks" are used as business and product names by Hannes Reinsch; no trade mark is registered. Content may not be reproduced without permission. The site is provided "as is" without warranty; liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. Governing law: Germany, venue Berlin. Full customer terms are agreed separately per engagement.
Beta terms
Summary - as of 13 October 2026 - draft, lawyer review pending
This is a plain summary of the terms a company signs before a beta install. The signed document is the one that counts. It is a draft until a lawyer has reviewed it.
What the beta is
An invite-only test of Zyx with at most 5 companies. Hannes Reinsch installs Zyx himself, on a server that belongs to the company. There is no download and no self-install. Both sides pick one real, recurring process and set it up. The company works with its real data.
90 days, fixed price
The beta runs for 90 days from the day of the install. Both sides can extend it together. It does not renew by itself. ZyxWorks charges one fixed price for the setup. Both sides agree it in writing before the install, together with the test cases that show the process runs. The company pays half at the start and half at day 30, when the process passes the agreed test cases. If it does not, the company can end the beta and gets the first half back. There is no licence fee during the beta.
Model costs are yours
The company pays its own model costs, through an API key in its own name with a spending limit that it sets at the model provider. The provider bills the company directly. ZyxWorks supplies no key and sells no model access. A local model on the server causes no provider costs.
No SLA
Zyx is beta software. It can have errors, give wrong answers or stop. There is no guaranteed uptime, no guaranteed response time and no promised date for a fix. The company checks results before it relies on them or sends them.
Data on your server
The company folder, the database and the logs stay on the company’s server. ZyxWorks runs no server for Zyx and has no standing access to the server. Text that a cloud model must read leaves the server and goes to the model provider the company chose; a filter on the server checks it first. The filter lowers the risk, it is not a guarantee. A route through EU providers only, or through a local model only, is possible.
Signed before the install
The beta terms, a data processing agreement (AVV) and the licence (EULA) are signed before the install. The company is the controller under the GDPR. ZyxWorks is a processor only during the guided install and agreed support sessions.
Feedback and publication
Both sides talk for 20 minutes each week. ZyxWorks may publish anonymised results. It names a company only with that company’s prior written consent.
How it ends
Either side can end the beta at any time, by email, without a reason. At the end both sides agree a price and a new contract, or ZyxWorks removes Zyx cleanly. The company folder and all data stay with the company on its server, and can be exported as files. The API key and the provider account stay with the company.
