Cursor

Setup guide only, not run live

What Zyx serves and which gates apply: Use Zyx from your AI tool.

  1. In Zyx, open Manage, API & MCP and make a key for the person Cursor acts as.

  2. Paste the Cursor / JSON line the screen shows into ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project):

    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "zyx": {
    "url": "https://zyx.example.com/api/mcp",
    "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <key>" }
    }
    }
    }

    For one folder, add ?folder=<folder> to the URL under a second name.

  3. Cursor’s MCP settings list zyx and its tools. The Cursor CLI reads the same file.

This needs the operator to publish Zyx’s MCP and OAuth paths (see the overview). Use the URL with no headers; Cursor offers to sign in and opens Zyx’s consent screen.

  • Nothing with Cursor itself. The JSON is the one Zyx’s keys screen prints, and the server side (bearer key, streamable HTTP, OAuth with dynamic client registration) is covered by Zyx’s tests.
